Fourth of July

We started our fourth by going to a bike parade in Dwight David and Seana's neighborhood.

Trying to get a group shot of them before the parade started but they really weren't interested. :)

I realized the morning of that I didn't have anything patriotic looking for Sid to wear. Luckily Aunt Seana had bought these cute leis for the kids and she looked like a 4th of July baby.

Carolyn and I were the last to finish the bike parade but we made it. I think her legs might have been too long for the tricycle.

Sidney got to taste her first bite of donut afterwards. She was a big fan.

Later on that night we roasted marshmallows for s'mores.

The kids waiting somewhat patiently for the fire to be ready.

Carolyn loved it.

Especially the eating part. She has been asking to do them again since then.

It was a great day for all four of them.

Backyard Fun

The girls have been enjoying lots of summer fun with their cousins in the backyard

This is Covington sick looking out at the window at them playing this past weekend. How pitiful is that face.

Luckily he felt better by the fourth and was right back out there playing with them again.

Cake

Sidney was not too sure how she felt about her birthday cake.

She kept sticking one finger into it.

We never could get her to just dig in. Which is odd because she is such a good eater and now is all about the sweets.

When she started doing this we decided to call it a day.

One thing I didn't get to do before we left Oklahoma was take Sidney to her one year check up. Thankfully I found a great doctor in Atlanta and here are her latest measurements.
Height: 30.5 inches 85 %

Weight: 19 lb 12 oz 23 %

She is taking steps now but she still crawls when she wants to get somewhere fast. To her walking takes too long. She is very busy always trying to keep up with her sister and cousins. We have been skyping Brian while we have been here and she gets soo excited to see him. She tried to jump onto the computer when he held up his arms thinking she could get to him.

She has a lamb blanket that we call her lovie that she can not part with now. She sniffs and lays on it and then she will hand it out to you for you to love on it. She talks a lot. Most of it is babbling still, but every now and then you can understand what she is saying. Her cousin Austin has taught her Please which is wonderful!!

She is just such a sweet little girl and I feel like this past year with her has just flown by.

The Move

So the girl's and I are in Atlanta staying with my brother and sister in law. This is the third time I have moved in with them since they have been married and I keep on multiplying. The first was right after I got out of college, then when Brian deployed and Carolyn and I moved back in for a couple of months, and now so Sidney won't feel left out we are back until we leave for Germany on the 12 of August. So Thankful for them!!!

Brian gets here on July 14. I am ready to see him and excited because we are going to the beach for a couple of weeks. We both love the beach and haven't seen much of it since we moved to Oklahoma.

Our stuff started getting packed up last week and they should be done with everything hopefully by this coming Wednesday. Carolyn has been so funny about the move. When I tell her that Dad is packing up the house she goes Mom our house won't fit in a suitcase. Then I told her they were boxing up the stuff inside our house she still declared that our house wouldn't fit in a box either. She is also requesting that we find a house with a red door in Germany(our house in OKC has a red door). It still seems so surreal that we are moving much less moving to Germany.

Buddie

My grandmother Nella Margaret Stover Small or "Buddie" as her grandchildren called her passed away on Sidney's birthday June 12. Brian and I decided that the smartest thing would be for the girl's and I to go on home and let him pack up the house for our move.

I am so glad that we were there for Buddie's memorial service. It was such a celebration of her life and made me so proud to have been her granddaughter. She was 92 years old and lived such full life. A great example of a mother and woman.
