Jack O Latern

We carved our pumpkin today. Carolyn wasn't too sure about sticking her hand in the pumpkin at first.

She decided to let Dad do most of the yucky work.

This is her face after she finally stuck her hand in.

The whole time we were carving our pumpkin, the one sided conversation with Carolyn went like this.

We carving a Jack O Latern momma.
My Jack O Latern scary momma.
I wanna hug him momma. I wanna give him a kiss momma.
Oooo Jack O Latern scary momma.

4 Months

Little Sidney is growing. Here are her latest measurements

Weight: 12 lbs 11 oz & in the 35 percentile
Height: 25 1/2 inches & in the 85 percentile

What is funny is that she is exactly the same size Carolyn was at this age.

We bought an exersaucer and she is loving it. Her latest thing is squealing at the top of her lungs in delight at everything. I guess she feels like she needs to add some noise to our house since it is so quiet around here.

So just like her sister Sidney is a swing addict. She loves the swing! I think we have used it so much between the two of them that it is dying. We have definetly gotten our moneys worth but I am hoping that it will hold out a little longer for us.

Carolyn is still her greatest entertainment. I love to watch them together. Carolyn thinks Sidney's new squealing habit is hilarious. She rarely calls her Sidney. Sidney is either Sid or Sis.

Such a sweet little girl and I think she would win the best baby award if I could get her to sleep a little more at night. She is giving me 5 hour stretches now so I guess I can not complain too much. I think we will keep her!!!

Pumpkin Time

I LOVE this time of year! We went and got pumpkins for the girls today. One each their size and a big one that Carolyn and Brian can carve.

Carolyn was very excited and I think Sidney was too in her own little what is this orange thing you just put in my hand kind of way.

Cookies

O how I have missed this smile!! Sidney was fussy the whole time we were in Dallas. The only place she would sleep was on me and just was not her usual smiley self. I took her to the doctor on Tuesday and she had a fever of 102.5. Thankfully she tested negative for the flu but she has really been pitiful these past couple of days. It has been "fun" having a sick baby and an active two year old.
Carolyn has been a great big sister though pretending to be Dr. Carolyn and suggesting that I give Sidney cookies. Because a cookie always makes you feel better. Well I didn't give Sidney a cookie but something seems to be working because I got my smiley baby back today.

Brian's 30th

Brian had a big birthday this past weekend. It is nice to not be the only 30 year old in our house now. The girls and I had fun making him a cake. Unfortunately as always I am the one who ends up eating most of the cake.

We went down to Dallas to stay with friends for the weekend and on Brian's actual Birthday he went to a Shinedown concert. Brian went to church with the bass player Eric Bass so he had a great time catching up with him and also got the VIP treatment at the concert. I think it is going to be hard to top this birthday for him.

Witch

Carolyn's Halloween costume finally came in. I think she is by far the cutest witch I have ever seen.

I just need to teach her not to hit her sister with her magic wand. :)

Recycle

I tried Carolyn’s first Halloween costume on Sidney to see whether or not I was going to be able to recycle it. I have been debating on whether I was going to buy Sidney a new one but I love this costume.
And Sidney looks just as cute as Carolyn did in it.

So I think I am going to have another little giraffe and Carolyn has decided that she wants to be a witch.

Best Friend

Carolyn has lost all of her shyness. I realized this last night when we went to a party for one of Brian’s coworkers. I don’t know if it was her sitting in between strangers and trying to get them to give her their chips or her not really caring where mommy and daddy were or the fact that she was coached (well I don’t think it took much coaching) into sticking her fingers in the cake to pick off the sprinkles by a group of adults that made me realize this. She has always been a pretty outgoing little girl but normally when we take her to places where lots of adults are around she sticks close to mom and dad. Well not anymore anyone that would listen to her last night she was going to talk their ear off.

Brian stayed at the party to enjoy a little longer and I took the girls home. In the car Carolyn goes “Where’s your best friend mommy?” When I asked her who was Mommy’s best friend she says My Daddy. She is very into best friends right now for some reason and I think we must be doing something right if she sees us in that light. Below is the first professional picture Brian and I have had taken since our wedding without the children. We haven't changed at all. HA.
